COVERAGE VERSUS CONSULTATION

"Coverage" --is a 2 or 3 page synopsis of your script. At the end of the coverage there’s a short review. It's a device that's used by studios to evaluate material (it has its value and we offer it, if requested). But for most writers purchasing coverage doesn’t make sense since you ALREADY KNOW WHAT YOUR SCRIPT’S ABOUT. The review may be helpful but a real consultation is a TOTAL review with real suggestions on how to improve the material.

If you ’re going to spend money, why not purchase a full "review" etc. which will address whether or not your script works and, if there are problems, what can be done to solve them. This is known as a consultation.
